The period of Lent is great time to 'try on' a new discipline and Christian practice.  There are three offerings for you this year. (Click each image to link :

A Monday to Friday prayer practice, meeting in the Zoom Room each morning Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. for a morning devotional.  We will be using the Living Compass devotionals with the theme of Cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit In Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind.  Although the program is daily and begins March 5th , SPSP has an Ash Wednesday service that day.  SPSP’s first meet is on March 6th.  (Unfortunately there will be a slight change of time for March 7th due to the zoom room being used for another purpose, however the devotional will resume March 10th every weekday at 8 a.m.  Here is the link to sign up for the devotionals, although they will be provided on screen so it is not necessary for you to register individually (https://www.livingcompass.org/living-well-through-lent-2025-readings). This course is free.

Rev Gail is taking an online course on line with Dr. Dominic Crossan. She will be viewing the weekly installments on Thursdays, however it can be viewed anytime in the week.  When you watch it, jot down your thoughts.  Rev Gail will then lead an in-person discussion on Saturdays at Kinder Cup in Esquimalt  (1503 Admirals Road) at 11 a.m. where we can discuss what we heard; what we like and what we didn’t.  You can watch the preview and  sign up for the course at (https://homebrewedchristianity.lpages.co/paulthepharisee/). There is a cost for this course, but don’t be put off by the advertising - only an extremely small donation is needed to take this class.  It BEGINS on March 13th so the first coffee time will be March 15th at 11 a.m.

The third option is offered by our Diocese Book Club: a 4-week online (via Zoom) Book Study in March 2025 discussing "No Matter What: Crisis and the Spirit of Planetary Possibility" by Catherine Keller.
